Job Description

As a Logistics Coordinator reporting to the Construction Manager, (based in Heathrow) you would likely be involved in the coordination of materials, equipment, and resources for this large-scale project. This role is crucial for the smooth operation and success of the project, as it directly impacts the efficiency of baggage handling and overall passenger experience at the airport.

You will be the single point of contact for both project team and suppliers for booking deliveries into the Colnbrook Logistics Centre (CLC), ensuring adequate information is included on the system for easy retrieval. Being the contact point for warehouse staff for any materials related questions such as identification of parts, shortages of materials and which conveyors are the current focus in order of phases and install.

Using communication skills to build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of project logistics is a key requirement.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and track shipments to ensure timely arrival.
  • Ensure compliance with all import requirements.
  • Oversee customs clearance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and other logistics-related activities.
  • Manage shipping documents, ensuring accuracy of all commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required certifications (COO, COCs, B/L).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, logistics partners, group companies, and internal teams.
  • Update logistics controls system with shipped items, report inconsistencies, and resolve issues.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to inbound shipments.
  • Ensure all products are received on time and processed efficiently to meet project delivery dates.
  • Coordinate with UK warehouse for timely shipping of equipment to site.

Qualifications

  • A-level or equivalent.
  • Further qualifications in project management and airport health and safety/site supervision would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills to deal with a number of stakeholders
