Air-Supported Belt Conveyors offer several distinct advantages that enhance operational efficiency, environmental protection, and overall cost-effectiveness. Designed to efficiently handle free-flowing bulk materials, these conveyors transport anything from low density alternative fuels to more dense materials like aggregate and ore.
Air-supported belt conveyors (ASBC) significantly reduce operating and maintenance costs. With fewer rotating parts and the absence of idlers, these systems require less maintenance, resulting in reduced downtime.
Utilising less energy than traditional conveyors, ASBCs are designed with more efficient motors and optimised control systems that reduce power consumption during operation, leading to significant energy savings over time.
Overall, a BEUMER air-supported belt conveyor installation translates to lower capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX), making ASBCs a cost-effective choice.
Fewer intermediate supports
Walkways not required
Fully enclosed, low dust design
High reliability
Environmentally friendly
Practically noiseless
Low degradation of conveyed materials
Lower maintenance costs
Steep inclines possible
Extended belt life
ATEX compliant
A key feature of ASBCs is their innovative air flow technology, which creates a cushion of air between the belt and the conveyor pan. This significantly reduces friction, ensuring smoother operation and less wear and tear on the belt. Consequently, maintenance costs are further lowered, and the lifespan of the conveyor system is extended. Additionally, the air flow technology ensures consistent belt alignment, reducing the likelihood of misalignment and associated downtime.
ASBCs are designed with environmental protection in mind. Their fully enclosed design prevents dust emission and material spillage, ensuring cleaner operations that comply with stringent environmental regulations. Furthermore, ASBC systems operate more quietly than conventional conveyors, reducing noise pollution and creating a better working environment, when used indoors.
The design flexibility of ASBCs is another notable advantage. These conveyors can span up to 30 metres without additional support structures, allowing installation in various environments with minimal infrastructural requirements. The elimination of walkways along the conveyor further reduces installation complexity and costs. Additionally, the modular and scalable design of air-supported belt conveyors allows for easy customisation to meet specific project needs. Utilising standard components ensures ease of maintenance and parts availability, while the reduced number of moving parts enhances system longevity and reliability.
At BEUMER, we provide you with a complete solution. We take care of every aspect of the project: project estimation, engineering, fabrication inspection, installation supervision, commissioning and even belt conveyor retrofits.
Globally, we currently support over 150 air-supported belt conveyors, conveying many different materials for many different industries.
With our air-supported belt conveyors, you get a solution that is specifically suited for handling dry bulk material and handling alternative fuels and raw materials . Based on your requirements and application needs, we offer you two different models – BEUMER HoverGlide and BEUMER HoverTube.
Experience efficient and versatile material handling with the BEUMER HoverGlide air-supported belt conveyor. Designed to simplify installation and reduce costs, the BEUMER HoverGlide supports spans of up to 12 meters without the need for extensive structural supports. With belt widths ranging from 1,400 to 1,800 mm and conveying capacities of up to 3,800 m³/h, it accommodates a wide range of applications and materials across various industries.
The BEUMER HoverTube provides the most maintenance free form of bulk material handling, while lowering initial capital investment. The air-supported belt conveyor features an advanced structural design that self-supports spans up to 30 meters — ideal for installations requiring longer straight spans. Despite its compact size, with belt widths from 600 to 1,200 mm, the BEUMER HoverTube delivers high conveying capacities of up to 1,500 m³/h.
The BEUMER HoverTube can handle most forms of dry bulk materials and is designed for indoor as well as outdoor applications.
