In baggage handling operations there is no doubt that a fast and efficient sorting system is an absolute necessity and contributes greatly to smooth running of your airport and passenger satisfaction. BEUMER Group’s tilt-tray-based loop sortation system’s high capacity and ability to handle a wide range of baggage shapes and sizes increases operational throughput without the need for additional floor space.
In many airports, this extra capacity may be sufficient to cope with forecasts for increased passenger numbers without having to make a major investment in a new terminal building.
BEUMER Group’s tilt-tray loop sorter for airports is a specially designed, high-speed baggage sortation system to handle baggage items of various shapes and sizes. The design has proven to increase operational throughput without taking up precious floor space in the baggage hall and this extra capacity may be sufficient to cope with baggage forecasts for increased passenger numbers without having to make a major investment in a new terminal building.
In projects where a new building is still required, the system design will still ensure that every possible bit of building space is used to its full potential.
Equipped with an energy-efficient linear synchronous motor (LSM), the tilt-tray loop sortation system reduces the overall system’s product life cycle cost (PLCC) substantially without sacrificing speed, baggage handling capacity, and reliability.
The extra operational advantage of applying the LSM motor to this type of high-speed BHS is that it eliminates contact between moving parts, resulting in minimal levels of wear and tear and features an ultra-low noise level in the baggage hall.
High capacity sortation
Modular platform for flexible layout
State-of-the-art drive system
Optimized induction system
The BEUMER Group tilt-tray sorter solutions are designed specifically for airports and offer remarkable flexibility.
Their modular design allows seamless integration into existing airport facilities, freeing up valuable space both above and below the sortation loop.
With a frame incline of up to 10 degrees, this baggage sortation system enhances BHS design versatility and accessibility across multiple floor levels.
With the linear synchronous motor drive system, the loop sortation system series ensures exceptional energy efficiency, consuming approximately 75 percent less energy compared to baggage handling systems with conventional linear induction motors (LIMs).
This proven technology minimises wear and tear to significantly reduce maintenance requirements and prolong product life-cycle, thus enhancing system reliability and availability.
