Job Description

General Responsibility:

As a Mechanical Engineering Student, you will join our engineering team located in Calgary and work on Mineral and Mining projects. You will have the chance to expand your engineering knowledge and to translate your theoretical knowledge into practical experience with hands-on experience working on projects with experienced professionals solve real-world engineering and design problems.

  • Term length: 8 or 12 months
  • Start date: January 2025
  • Location: Calgary, AB

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the engineering team to solve engineering and design problems.
  • Assist with daily engineering tasks as required, gaining real-world experience across different areas of mechanical engineering.
  • Participate in the design and development of mechanical components.
  • Create and develop AutoCAD drawings and 3D models.
  • Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity. This includes the preparation and review of engineering documents and basic calculations.
  • Providing fabrication/technical support to vendors for basic equipment
  • Other administrative or engineering duties assigned as necessary by senior engineering staff.

Qualifications

Key Requirements and Professional Attributes:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of basic engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor or similar.
  • Ability to read drawings and to create sketches.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be self-motivated and efficient in time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Able to work both independently with minimum supervision and in a team.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada at time of application.
