- Inspect and maintain key components such as motors, bearings, rollers, pneumatic cylinders, electrical wiring, and power supplies.
- Document and report all maintenance actions, including parts used, work completed, and any ongoing issues.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical and electrical faults quickly to minimize system downtime.
- Troubleshoot issues with motors, sensors, electrical circuits, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and other automated systems that impact baggage flow.
- Perform repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, including replacing parts, recalibrating equipment, and ensuring that the BHS meets operational requirements.
- System Upgrades and Installation:
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new BHS components or systems, both mechanical and electrical, ensuring integration with the existing infrastructure.
- Help implement upgrades and modifications to improve system efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Testing and Calibration:
- Conduct routine and on-demand testing of mechanical systems (conveyors, motors, pulleys) and electrical systems (control panels, wiring, PLCs, sensors).
- Perform calibration on control systems, adjusting parameters to meet operational requirements.
- Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Adhere to local regulations and international standards for BHS systems, ensuring all work complies with Aruba’s health and safety laws.
- Participate in safety audits, training, and other activities that promote workplace safety.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including maintenance schedules, repairs, spare parts usage, and system performance.
- Provide daily, weekly, or monthly reports to the BHS Maintenance Manager and other relevant personnel on system status, maintenance activities, and operational issues.
- Assist with developing and maintaining an inventory of critical parts and components for the BHS.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other technicians, operations teams, and airport staff to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities.
